The Offset Linear command is used to create a construction element from an existing element. (Only linear elements can be used with this command-no shapes or polygons can be created with this command. From the Utilities ribbon, select the Offset Linear command:

This will display the Offset Linear dialog:

• Tolerance—distance between two elements to be considered as adjacent.
• Find Adjacent—locate elements within the tolerance factor.
• Restrict Adjacent using Fence—use a fence to limit the number of elements being compared.
• Use Offset—to place element at the offset distance value. (Unchecked, the element is placed by cursor.)
• Offset-- the distance the new element will be placed.
